Removing info from footer if not needed in that report

Hey everyone, im finishing my first DB app and ive just got this issue with reporting.

I currently have at the bottom of my statements:

    SubTotal:
    Less X:
    Total Minus X
    Less Y
    Total Minus XY
    Less Z:
    Total Minus XYZ
    Less A
    Total Minus XYZA
    Less B
    Final Invoice Total

Now if there is no ZAB then the lines below that are made to be "" so they are blank. however they are still "there".

Therefore it is 7 lines in a Report footer that maybe only 3 are showing if there is no YZAB for example!

The issue with this is that if a report table has 25 records on it and THEN has the footer, if there isnt space for all these lines even if they are blanks, it puts it all on the next page.

What I need to do is.. "if there is no XYZAB Remove those lines and make the footer "mm" shorter"

Am i on the right track, or does anyone have any recommendations???

    Regards,
    GANGEL

So what if you have 25 records and all of those values? I think you need to address that scenario before proceeding, otherwise you might do a bunch of work for nothing.
I don't suppose you want a grouping footer for each of these values? That should set the group size to zero for blank ones. I've also seen ideas about using the format event for the report footer, but that involved changing the height position and visibility of controls that had no data. Could get messy.
