Issue with formatting field from subquery

I'm getting more experienced with pass-through queries and finding the benefits of them, however i've noticed some areas where it seems Access is just not capable of handling the translation.

I have one in particular where I have the pass-through query, it pulls several fields, one of them is a product of a subquery where I total wgt from a separate table. In the report designer for the data I'm pulling it does not allow me to set a number formatting for this field. My options are blank. I might also mention that I have a couple other fields that relate to this total and their formatting is unavailable as well. Any ideas to why this might be and how I could possibly fix it?

Figured this out. In my sum subquery, I guess even though the fields are decimal type in SQL when it summed them it discards this? Not sure exactly how it works but I had to use a CAST function to set them as decimal again, then I was able to format everything fine in the report.
