    Novice User Help Please

I am a novice access user and have a question about a querry. I download a vendor detail list every month that has a list of every journal entry written for the month which is about 50,000 lines. I need to organize this data in a report or querry by month. Each GL line has a category and I created that database. Where I am running into trouble is getting the months to agree with each other. There are several of the same vendors each month so I wont a running total of what we have spent on that vendor each month. I think my problem is with relationships. Please help.

Have you created your report yet?
Or - do you have a query to base your report on?

I tried, but it didn't come out how I wanted it to look. Basically the report should be look like this. Organized by expense category, then vendor, the the expense amounts by month.

Does your data have several month's data - or just the data for ONE month?

Yes I would like the months to go across the top so you can see the trend.

can you attach a jpg of what you want your report to look like? I'm trying to imagine how it can be done with an Access report.

Are the Vendors always the same? Or can new Vendors be added?
