=Report won't Print each record on page

I have 10 records. I want each record to print on a separate page of a report I developed. I am using the field patid to group each record.

It still prints all the records on one page. I think I am missing something simple here. Any help is appreciated.

To do each record on a page, you need to set the FORCE NEW PAGE property of the DETAIL SECTION to AFTER SECTION.

First off, unless you need grouping, don't include any. The controls should be in the Details Section for this to work. Otherwise if you have groupings then the group would need a footer and then the group footer's force new page property would be set to after section. That is, if the values show one value per group.

    Somewhat Maddening

I am using no grouping. The detail section contains the fields from the three records. The Force new page of the detail section is set to after section.

It still give me all three records on one page. Access can be maddening at times...

Try adding a page break control just below the last control in the detail section while in design view. You may also need to re-set the force new page property of the detail section to None as well.

    Hope this helps,

    Jim

Can you post a copy of the database here so we can check it out? (make sure to be using bogus data so no sensitive info is there). If so, make sure to compact and repair it and then zip the file and then upload.

While in design view of the report, the page break control should be with the rest of the controls, i.e. the same place where you would find a label, textbox, button, combobox, listbox, etc. to add to the report. It should look like two rectangles with lines separated by a triangle.

There should be no problem with using the force new page property. Something isn't set up right. You should not need the page break control.

The problem is that the report, if you set the details section's Force New Page to After Section, it does really work. But it works when in Print Preview but NOT in Report View. So, it will work for you but you should disable Report View for this report.

See attached revision to your database report.

    Works perfect

Works perfect thanks much. I'll put it down as solved. Quick question. Overall is the setup I'm using ok. Never really set one up like this and am curious of what someone who understands access what they think. I'd appreciate any critique, I'm a big boy....

Well, for the most part is seems pretty good. The only thing I wouldn't do from an integrity standpoint is to keep balance info as stored information. I would calculate the balance from the billing and the payments.
