    Hiding Images

Is there a way for me to hide images in a file such as a dll file and then use those images in my DB.

Currently i have all my images stores in a folder eg: .../backend/images/

but this gives user easy acces to the images and i have one user in particular who insists on replacing images with his own.

I really want to prevent this and don't really want to go the route of embedding the images in the front end a bloating said front end.

Can you set up permissions on the folder as read only for anyone but you?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Somebody has permission to set permissions. Talk to IT administrator.

Sorry, that's the only way I know to protect the contents of a folder. I have no idea how a dll file holds images.

This thread talks about securing DLL with 'obfuscation' but it concerns web access and ASP.Net and don't know if could adapt. http://thedailyreviewer.com/dotnet/v...tory-103402229

You can build an image repository by using the Microsoft Image Control if it is available to you. The problem with that is that you will need to make sure that ActiveX control is installed and registered on each computer.

Can a check be performed using VB to check if its installed and if not, vb have the control install automatically ?

I'm sure there can be code to do that but I'm not sure what it would be.
