    Inventory Database

    Hello,

First of all I would like to thank the forum to allowing me to be part of it.I have started to use access for my buisness and I need to create a inventory database of all the hardware computer etcetc in my office. What I have created so far is a master list table accounting all the hardware inventory that I have for example purpose let us take PC's I have 100 now I would like to do is create another table listing each of those pc's with a tag number and also the details.
Now I would like to do is create a relationship between these tables in suck a fashion where by I am able to see the details off all the PC's in the master list under the PC's record.
Please if anyone can give any suggestions or advice will greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

    Thanks,
    Roger

If you are new to database, as well as Access, you would do yourself a great favor by reading the first 4 Topics of this link
    http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/forum/topic238.html

When you define your table, and enter field names, Access will allow you to set/modify data types.

Your description indicates you have Acc2003. I have acc2003, so I can not open an accdb file. Sorry.
I thought you'd be sending an mdb.

I think you still have a 2010 accdb. I dropped the .accdb, but it still gives me an unrecognizable format.

    Hello Orange,
I have converted it into pdf file please take a look at it and let me know what changes I should make or if I can do this in a better way.My goal is to just make a list of the inventory that I have of all the pc's etcetc that I am going to assign a unique tag#.But I want to achieve is to be able to auto update all the tables with just one entry in a form and also I would like to have sum total of all the hardware individually.

    Thanks,
    Roger

In asset type I am able to open the list of all pc's as I have create a relationship between asset type and it assets. But I am not able to create a sum total of each hardware in Asset type,I have tried all possible ideas I can think of if only I could get another column indicating to me how many pc's I have in total in my IT_asset list that would awesome right now I am able to pull it in the query.

    Thanks,
    Roger
