If Field is Null - Then Use Data from Other Field

How would the criteria look for if the Query Field is Null - Then for it to Use Data from another field in the query.

Nz(FirstField, SecondField)

Nz(FirstField, Nz(SecondField, ThirdField))

I wish it was a design problem...its more like a data problem. I have to pull from several tables in order to get the material number for another report. Its alot of combining unfortunately...
