    Can access take one text string and split it into two?

    Hello.

    Ive created a database for my companies product base for use with a website.
    I have a form where all the data is fed into so i can edit it easily.

    One of the data sets is image files.
    I want to copy and paste the file name in. an example would be "helmet2evo.jpg"
    I then want to some code or something in place so that on my form I see it broken down to two fields file name:"helmet2evo" format:"JPEG"

    any ideas?
    Would appreciate any help.

    Thank you.

    Look in Access help, or Google

    Left()
    Right()
    Mid()
    Instr()

    Orange has given you some good advise. After doing your searches, look at this video and see how you can do it
