A2007 Runtime on same machine as A2003

We have a small number of people in the office that are still working on A2003, while most are running A2007. Many postings have noted not using runtime on a machine which already has Access. But, I'm wondering if it would create a problem to install the A2007 Runtime on those machines that still have A2003 installed. The primary purpose would be for use of A2007 database that is split BE/FE on a shared folder.

it ALWAYS creates problems, my friend. It's pretty close to common sense.

two version of anything on machine will get you in trouble.

I was hoping it might be possible to edit the associated extensions. None of that user group are heavy access users. This is likely the only database they would be accessing on a regular basis. Their version info was incorrectly reported when this A2007 project began and they're totally left out as it is now since it's BE is accde.....

is it part of office or not??

if it's not, have them uninstall it first. it's that easy.

if it's not, why can't you deploy an mdb to them?? actually, as a developer you'll probably end up doing that anyway. usually the developer and/or tech department is/are the one/ones that end up caving in to demands.

I don't think it is a problem. Just be sure to not go with the default install - and to place it in a separate folder not with your A03.

Lots of developers have differing versions on the same machine. I do. So I don't think it would be different for runtime....
