    Creating/Using Public Subs

So how does one go about creating & using a 'public sub'. Let's say I have some code that I need to use over and over again. Obviously it makes sense to write the code once and save it publicly and be able to just call it when I need it. But I am clueless about how. I don't know where to create the public sub (in a module?) how to name it... how to call it...

I know that if I could just wrap my brain around this my ability to create with Access would just jump leaps and bounds.

I've tried to find a good example of something simple and I'm just not finding it.

As always Thanks to all the wonderful brains here for any help provided.
