    Can Grow doesn't work

I am using a2007 with w7. I have an unbound control in the detail section of a report. The "can grow" property for the detail section=yes as does the same property for the control. I took all other controls and labels out of the detail section to eliminate overlaps. The unbound control still does not grow when needed. (viewing in print prevew mode). What am I missing? Any help much appreciated.

    Hi,
Your unbound control should be bound to a field of the report data-source. What you want to print in that un-bound control?

I think that what you are telling me is that an unbound control won't grow? This unbound control contains Iif expressions and combines several source fields of varying length for display in a report. If I make it large enough for the largest possible combination, the space becomes unsightly.

    OMG!
Just try to solve the IIF statement in the source query and call that field calculated field in the un-bound control on the report. (no need for un-bound control on the report in this case) you can directly use the IIF Statement (a calculate field) to your Report...

    Hope that will help.

Khalid-It works-Thank you so much. I like to put expressions sometimes in reports because they are easier to see and manipulate on a report design screen. I will have to modify that practicea little better now. Thanks again for answer and for quick response.
