Exclamation Multiple users using the database from shared drive all at same time

    Hi all,

I have a database which is very small (< 10 MB). The data in it is minimal. I need to place it on a shared drive so that multiple users can use it. There are around 10 users. Is it possible for them to access the same table in the database at the same time and make update/deletes and additions without disturbing others.

When I looked into other forums they adviced that the database should be split into Front end and back end. But that is not logical i guess as the database is so small.

If I place the entire database as it is in the shared will 10-12 users be able to make modifications to the same table at same time. I observed that if 2 users are opening the database they will not be able to make changes to the same record at same time.

    Kindly help. Thanks in advance.

Seems you have searched and found the answer. However, it also seems you don't want to follow the advice. What do you want from us? The answer to sharing a database (multiuser with updates) is what you found.

If you place the entire database as it is in the shared than only ONE users be able to make modifications to the same table at same time. if 2 users are opening the database they will not be able to make changes to the same record at same time since the table are locked for second user.
You need to split the DB Size make no reason NOT to do this. This is only way to share for multiple user.
