Do you have any experience with vba and Form Events?
You might try to google with this
"ms access sample form with checkboxes to do search"
It will get you a few older posts with some discussion.
The basic thing here is that you'll have query, but what goes into the WHERE clause
depends on what checkboxes are ticked.
Just thought of another tutorial. Martin Green has good tutorials on using vba to set up different queries.

Read through it and see if it makes sense.
