    Problem with Access runtime

I've made a little progress with packaging and making a runtime file for my
Access 2007 app, using Microsoft info pages, but for some reason I'm getting a blank application open when I test-package it and then try and run the file.

Basically, I created a private certificate using Office Tools, did a "package
and publish" inside Access, then (as advised by MS) changed the file extensions to .accdr, created a shortcut and edited the shortcut executable so that it had /runtime at the end.

What actually happened is that it opened up a blank environment, but with the Acrobat tab of the Office 2007 ribbon showing (and nothing else). (I have Acrobat 9 Pro installed). No idea why???

What I want it to do (at the moment) is open up one of the forms by default, so users can enter information- or even better, open up multiple forms together.

Any ideas how I can do this?

    Thanks!

perhaps you got a blank screen open because you don't have a startup form specified?? maybe??

as far as an acrobat tab is concerned, I believe, but not 100%, that the program is incorporated into MS office apps as soon as it's installed. especially the newer versions of that. I don't believe add ons are required to be installed in ms office apps for that tab to show up.

Hi, no I had a startup form specified, but it seems that I needed to download and install a Developer Addin, which then lets me package the application. Once I did that it launched with the form showing.

I would like to find a way of removing the Acrobat add-in though - it's only going to confuse users!

    Thanks for the reply

I don't believe that the adobe add-in should appear in runtime deployments. I've never seen it. But then again, I never asked the recipients if they had a newer version of adobe acrobat on their machines. so I can't confirm.

    good luck to ya!
