    simple VB code help

I am new to VB and learning on the go. This is the issue I came accross and wanted to ask a suggestion. I have two checkboxes Yes and No in a form. I will point the result of the selection to one field in a table. I cant add more fields to the table. So how do when Yes option selected it post a value say 1 and when No is selected the oposite value is selected say -1. And when form is loaded based of value 1 or -1 in the field in the table the code puts checkmark in the right checkmark, (1 for yes and -1 for No). Thanks
