Old way: Outlook...New way: Google mail

We used to have an Outlook Exchange server to send out reports from Access. Is there a way to send out reports using Access (Visual Basic codes) using Google mail? Please, advise. Thanks.

yes there is, but it's extremely complex. You have to use PDO, I believe. I have an example of this, and there's a FAQ on the access world forums (google it) in one of the 3 FAQ forums/categories they have there.

When you download that sample, you can see that the code is something for an expert, if it has to be modified. Basically all you're doing with something like this is changing your outgoing mail server and port. I believe google uses port 80, but I can't really remember.

Check AWF. it's there somewhere. I know it is, because I just downloaded not but a few weeks ago.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
