Beginner-Importing excel table question

When importing an exel table, is there a way to reconfigure an x/y table to a list table without having to do it manually in excel?

My excel table y axis has Mgr Names. X axis has the twelve months and sales figures as the values.
I want to convert to an access table with the field names - Mgr, Date, Sales so I can enter values that span multiple years.

ummm...x/y? what's that? and what's a list table?

try selecting all of your data in excel, right click and paste special. use the TRANSFORM option to turn it around first and see if that helps.

The excel table has names going down the first column, and then column headings for each of the twelve months. so the intersection of each name and month would be one record (sales) for that month for that name(X and Y Axis). So each year would need a seperate table.
I was wondering if Access had a feature to import that excel table in a way that I could use just one table and have a name field, a date field, and a sales field without having to manipulate the data in excel prior to importing(time consuming).
