Intriguing Access 2003 Bracket problem

Dear Forumers,

I have a question regarding Access 2003. Currently, I have a long query in Access 2003, with a lot of nested selects. Somehow, after I save the query and run, some of the () in the query becomes [ ]. The ( becomes a [ and the ] becomes a ]. If I run the same query, I get no runtime error. However, if I make any edits to the query or if I transfer the query to a different .mdb file, then running the query will give me an error saying brackets are wrong.

What is the cause of Access 2003 changing () into [].? How do I fix this issue?
