    Convert auto number

    Hi,

Could anyone tell me how to convert an autonumber field to a number field in access 2003? I need to paste data with unique ref nos into a table but the autonumber is overriding my ref numbers.

(I have tried searching previous posts for answers but couldn't find anything exactly matching my question).

    Thanks
    Jon

What is wrong with an additional field? Here's a good link to read on AutoNumbers: http://www.utteraccess.com/forum/Aut...t-t443604.html

Change the field to NUMBER. It doesn't get any more complicated than that, actually.
