    Question Access 2007 MDE file

I've been using Access 2000 for too long and have now loaded version 2007.

After changing just about everything in the old 2000 (.mdb) database to 2007, it now works fine.

The problem I have now however is not remembering (probably old age) if the mde file works on a user's machine that does NOT have Access 2007 installed on it.

I have made a new mde and it works okay on my machine for obvious reasons.

I'm certain that they used to run in the older version.

Access 2007's Help file doesn't even recognise "mde" as a search query, and I need some real help.

    Thanks

first of all, access help runs on xml, which might be why the searching stinks. I don't know.

second, mde's are deployables for the first issued format of access, I believe, so it should work in 2000-2007 versions, and possibly even in 2010 without corruption issues.

however, you need an engine. either the program or the runtime version to run that extension.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
