    Attaching Files

Is there a way to attach a file to a form? For instance if they wanted to create a word document and attach it to the form and allow them to add more data to it by downloading it add and re uploading?

My concept around this is allowing someone to track what theyve done for a certain record (such as following up on a issue or something). The records are individual issues. I was going to create a follow up form that was linked to the main research form but it would open that same for for all the entries which I don't want. I want each record to have there own little form.

with 2003, there is no attachment field type. have you considered using a hyperlink-looking field to allow them to open the doc directly?

A hyperlink wouldnt work. Someone would have to create the file and add the link to each new entry where needed. I don't want people to be able to edit the design of the form. (Meaning have access to the design view and tables)

I used the hyperlink and it allowed ME (exclusive access user) to right click and add link (or the file path) but when my users (without exclusive access) tried, they could not right click...Is there a reason why this is happening?

I turned off everything in the Tool --> Startup except Display Status Bar is checked. Is that part of the issue? Do I have to many things not active? There is no actual security to access the database yet. I use Shift to get into it to make changes.
