Missing references and running code at startup

    Good morning
In my code i am making reference to external dlls (MapWinGis).
When the application is not installed on the user machine, it is marked as "MISSING" in the list of references and in the mean time, i got a popup with "Can't find project...".
I have already a script which checks if the application is installed by verifying in the registry. It works great and is completely smooth for the user.

The problem i have is the fact that this popup is systematically displayed even before going into my code which will verify the registry.

Is there a way to force my application to run my code or catch the error message above?
I can not remove the reference because in all cases, it starts complaining when it sees declarations to MapWinGis objects.

    Hope it is clear enough

Thanks for helping me, i don' t see how to solve this programmatically. I can not ask to user who have a limited IT knowledge to run the installation program manually or check/uncheck the reference lists.

    Thanks again

    Sylvain
