    Different Versions Linked Together

I inherited a large problem. A database was created using Access 97 for me at my job when I was hired in 2000. City hall hired a computer consultant after that and he added stuff to my database using Access 2000. I now have Access 2003 and the computer guy is gone.

Here's the problem. I can't add anything. I get something like "cannot change table is linked to an earlier version". Is there something I can run to update everything to the same 2003 version?

    Welcome to the forum!

There were some major changes between Access 97 and Access 2000. If you are still using the Access 97 database, you will need to convert it to Access 2000 or 2003. If you are using either Access 2000 or 2003 and try to open the Access 97 file, it should prompt you to convert it. If there was code used in the Access 97 database, it may not convert properly which may lead to issues.
