How to use Lookup field's value in and append query

    Hi,
i am creating an append query in which i am using a field of the Source table which is actually a lookup field to fill in one field of the Destination table, but it just writes the ID assigned to that value in that lookup field .
And i want to pass the Value to the destination table, how could it be done ?

    Thanks

Thanks, i also came up with this page which someone explains in detail why to avoid lookup fields :

    http://bytes.com/topic/access/answer...-lookup-fields

    but a question :
is there actually a way to bring in the actual value in case some one uses lookup fields and really can not get rid of it ? how can it be done ?

and next i don't really realize what should i do if i want to have a separate table with ids and descriptions of a field and have just the id field in my main table. how can id do them without lookup fields ? or better i say when i am currently using lookup fields, how can i migrate into that better solution ?
