    Loss of Records On Update

I have a database tht deals with rented movies and I have query that captures films that are outstanding. The movies in this field and who has them are changeable, (when the person returns the films). What I wanted to do is to have a query based on that query to count the number of times a customer has brought in an outstanding film. However, I feel tht as the source query changes, so will the query tht I will group by. I want this to not occur. I wonder if there may be any method of capturing tht information without compromising the source query. Any help would be appreciated.

In order for us to give you the most helpful advice, we need to know the format of your database and the exact needs for your query.

    1) Please post the current SQL for the query that almost works.

    2) What is the layout of the tables?

    3) Which customers should be included in your query?
