I ended up doing some honey-do's and now I'm pooped. I'll be back at it until I upload a sample but I'm breaking off for now. Sorry Cap. Not as young as I used to be.

BINGO!!!!! Hope u had enough rest and break From my side thanks to your links, I figured it out especially from

    http://www.databasedev.co.uk/many_to_many_example.html

The given example file was very handy and could see each step and figure out.

I thank you for giving the links and also for the guidance not to use the look-ups in the table. I will try and read up with regard to this and see how to use combo box in a form. Initial problems I face is; I have only two fields like crew_id and job_id to assign jobs to the crew. I find it too blind to enter with codes and with lookup fields in the tables it was easy to see names and jobs. Anyhow for this post, being solved, I am writing to thank you for guiding me and the tips.

That's great! I don't have all of the bells and whistles in this but here's a sample of using a ComboBox that you might find useful.

Once again thanks for the solved file. Yours is better with the name being selected from combo and passing it on to the unbound. Since retrieving data part is solved now I am scouting for how to use combo boxes in a form to enter records for the table which has only crew_id and job_id. Till such time catch up with all the rest and recreation. Thnk you n good night. and brgds/captgnvr

The SubForm can add records to that table.

yes yes. It is great the way u have given the option to delete the task and at the same time to fill the table with new jobs assigned. Thanks for being there and finishing it on a high note. brgds/captgnvr
