Guys, let's play nice. Lots of people post with pseudo data and/or situations so why is this any different? IMO, in ALL cases, the OP gets the questions they get because they don't say so up front. The worst scenario is when you provide a solution that works for what was given, only to find out it doesn't work because the sample data is not real. That hasn't happened yet here.

All I am saying is that we were directed away from the issue as we were presented with what appeared to be a non normalised db, which most people would pick up upon, and advise as such.? Pretty much a red rag to a bull?

For someone who 'is not their first rodeo' you think they might have used length, width, height etc, instead of just naming as they have done?
However they also have clowns in rodeos, so perhaps I am expecting too much?

My initial question was in regards to giving the user an alternative way to input data into the form via a series of input boxes as opposed to opening up a form and tabbing through all of the fields. That's it.

I thought about using input boxes after recently completing an online application for car insurance. That process was very structured and used a sequence of what could be described as input boxes as you went through the insurance application. And I wondered to myself, if this could work while filling out an Access form. Yes, I posted a pseudo form with irrelevant data just to show the number of text boxes that was presented to the user(s) - who complained about "too many fields."

I was not asking for anything else other than using input boxes for data entry. Since this has turned into an inquisition on form & database design, I'm sorry I freaking asked as this forum as been very beneficial in the past.

    Clown? Seriously? WTF?

Every Web application I have used takes you through a set of what I will call controls to keep in line with Access.
In fact they will complain you have not entered month or year when attempting to enter dob and on day.

My 10c would be just use a form and supply what is missing in the before_update of the form. All in one go.

If I was just doing it for myself, I might well use input, but then I would expect to know when and what any format needs to be entered. Hard to do on Input
If this is going to be the worldwide program that you envisage, then keep distractions to a minimum
