At best, 15 Mbps download & 1 Mbps upload but often far slower
if you have 4G in your area, might be worth a look - typical speeds around 20 download, 5 upload. 5G significantly better. Also worth investigating Line of Sight, costs a few £100's to install but you get cable level performance (300mbps or better for upload and download).

I do have 4G and the mobile signal is usually very good. No 5G though.
It took me 6 weeks to get BT to provide an internet connection after I moved here in 2019.

I've been told that I cannot get anything like my previous internet speeds (before I moved) no matter what I do.
Only a few hundred metres from me, there are several households with no usable internet connection at all.

As you can see from the test sample I showed, internet speed is very variable here.
It can be good but I have also experienced more than 10 second delays in some WebEx/Teams meetings that I've led
I did consider satellite broadband which can work well for downloads or uploads but isn't at all effective for 2 way communication in things like AUG meetings

The speeds are so dependent upon factors. F'rinstance, with 3 tv's on and on wifi, and my laptop running on wifi, my 100 mps package is running at 18 down and 9 up on wifi. Not quite as advertised, but not ideal either. Then again, I don't typically have issues; probably because I'm not taking it to the max.

Line of Sight is not satellite - see these links

    https://gigmocha.com/what-is-line-of...ernet-service/
    https://www.apcsolutionsuk.com/what-...ight-internet/

A friend lives in a remote location (on a farm 5 miles from anywhere) and has just had it installed - very pleased with it. There are different installers in different area's so depends if there is one in your area. Think he found his when he talked to a company called Gigaclear who install cable around here.

I'll see if he can tell me anything else

Thanks for the links. I was aware what line of sight means and don't believe it is feasible here.

Although we're fairly remote and quite high up on Exmoor, I'm almost certain we don't have direct line of sight due to surrounding hills.
That's why I did consider satellite as an alternative.
Unfortunately LOS is probably also too expensive to justify even if available

Access User Group Meeting - Wed 4 Jan 2023

The next Access Europe meeting will be on Wednesday 4 Jan 2023 at 18:00 (6PM) UK time (UTC)

This is equivalent to 19:00 (7PM) in Central Europe / CET (UTC+1) and 10AM in Seattle / PDT (UTC-8)

For local times, please check https://www.worldtimebuddy.com/

I am very pleased to announce that Karl Donaubauer (long time MVP, organiser of Access DevCon and the Access News videos) will be running a presentation called A baker’s dozen of tips, tricks and tools in 60 minutes

As the topic title indicates, the session will be used to demonstrate about a dozen of Karl’s favourite tips, tricks and tools. It may also be 14 or 16…

Anyway, if you think you already know everything about Access, you’ve come to the right place.
Karl is constantly collecting techniques, tools, solutions and explanations that you don’t hear and read everywhere. This time for example:

    • Access/VBA settings overlooked for decades
    • how to program Access properties in VBA that don’t exist in VBA
    • how to get return code (exit code) from external programs
    • finally, the horizontal continuous form
    • a tool to generate & integrate QR codes at the push of a button
    • a tool that generates professional related test data
    • context menus without right mouse, colours in combo and list boxes… and other small stuff

    For more details, see: https://accessusergroups.org/europe/...pe-2023-01-04/

The meeting will again be held on Zoom. when the time comes, you can connect using: Join Zoom Meeting
I hope you will join us!

Also, the video of my presentation on 7 Dec is now available on YouTube:
