    If there is a WIFI between the FE and the BE, there exists a high probability of corruption.
    Hardwired (no WIFI), I have used VPN of over 3,500 miles with no problems.

    Have you considered using Teamviewer or Jump to connect your home computer to your office computer? Office computer needs to be switched on and ready to connect. When you connect, you are using the office machine to run apps (in the same way Citrix/Terminal Server works) as if you were sitting at your office desk - I connect to my office machine that way when I am out and about, even from my phone.

    So far as I know, both have a free version for non commercial use.
