query not working - despite trying three different versions

    Hi

I've now reached the hair tearing point . I suspect I am making a fundemental error which is stopping the queries I wrote and the ones kindly supplied via this thread.

I've attached a copy of the database with 95% of the data removed in the hope that someone will see what I've done wrong.

If it's back to the drawing board so be it but I can't for the life of me see what I've missed.

    thanks

    Ian

You have a Lookup with alias set on the fk_GraveID field in tblDeceased. Remove the combobox lookup and you will see the actual value saved to the field. I NEVER set Lookups in tables just because of this confusion they cause. I want to see the real value when I view table, not the lookup alias.

This is a common issue. Kicking myself for not deducing without having to view database.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
