After some trial and error, I have everything working perfectly. I really appreciate the help.

I do have a different question now if you care to help. So in my main table (tblProjectSummary) there are 25 checkboxes, and along with each checkbox are 2 other fields, 1 of them a date, the other text.

I would like to create a report that shows me any record in tblProjectSummary in which ANY one of these 25 checkboxes are checked. So I created a query to check for any 1 of the 25 checkboxes being checked. That part works fine. Here's where I run into trouble. If possible, I would like the report to show me the record that has 1 of the checkboxes checked, show me ONLY the checkboxes that are checked and the 2 fields (date & text) that go along with that checkbox. So basically, if on record #3 the 10th checkbox is checked, when I run the report, it will show me ID 3, checkbox 10, and the date and text fields that go with checkbox 10 (we can just call them for conversation sake Date10 and Text10).

Is this possible in a report? To show things ONLY if a condition like a checkbox is met.

    Not easily.

Can a record have more than one of these 25 checkboxes checked?

This does not sound like a normalized data structure. The yes/no fields also appear to be redundant.

Yes, any number of checkboxes can be checked, could be several at a time.

Maybe I'm choosing a bad way to do this. All I'm using this database for is for me as a project engineer to keep track of my projects. This way I can look up past projects and have a record of what I did in the past (my memory is bad). So, when I have a project (say project #1 for example) and there are things I need to remember to take care of for it, for example ordering parts, I go into that project and check the first box, put in the date in the date box (Date1), and then type "order parts" in the text box (Text1). If I had another item I needed to remember, I put it in the next box and so on. Sometime projects take weeks or months, so I'm constantly adding things. When I finish an item, I uncheck it's box, leaving the date and text fields there so I can see what I did......Then, I want to create a report that I can run at will that will show me all projects that have a box checked, meaning, projects that I need to take care of something on. Kind of gives me a "here's stuff I need to take care of" report.

    Any ideas?

Current structure limits to 25 task items - what if you need 26? Perhaps it is unlikely a project will have 25+ tasks, but not impossible. Would have to modify table, queries, forms, reports. And because not every field has data, this also violates normalization principles.

Normalized structure would be a related 'child' table. Each task would be a separate record with fields for DateEntered and DateCompleted. Report could include only projects where DateCompleted is null.

It is a balancing act between normalization and ease of data entry/edit. Normalize until it works, denormalize until it hurts (or vice versa).

You could post a copy of your dB. We could look at the structure and make suggestions.........
