The other workstation is currently running on Access 2003, but I cannot edit to remove the security on that station either. However, the database runs from the other workstation, just not if we transfer it.

Get the password and open the MDE file. It seems like you are bypassing the security file to a locked MDB.
Give me a minute and I will look at my books. You should be able to find an MDE file and double click it if I am not mistaken. Let me double check.
Never mind post #17
I was thinking about user level security which will leave your file as an MDB.
Did you find a digitally signed certificate assigned to the MDB file? Are you sure you have an MDB file? Are you using a shortcut or are you actually dbl clicking the actual file and viewing the extension type?
Just like June7 listed out, this does not add up, short of the digital cert thing mentioned by Microsoft or you are using a shortcut to an mde
There is no digital cert attached when I transfer it, but when I add one as the prior post suggested it doesn't fix it.
I double checked to make sure that the file is an mdb (right clicked and looked at file properties) and it is. It is saved on my computer, not a short cut.
I agree things aren't adding up. When I look at the properties I can see it was created with a digital cert. in 2008. I am new to the department and I don't think I have access to archive department files yet so locating a missing mde could be on that drive possibly?
You want the MDB
I would try again to remove the cert. You may need to do it from the machine it was created. I don't know for sure. Just guessing here. Maybe you can place a copy of the MDB on a machine you have admin privileges to. Put it in the MyDocs folder or somewhere on the C drive locally.
Open up excel or something and go after the global security settings in the Macro Security area. I am going off of memory. Bring the security level to a minimum. Go after trusted certs settings. Trust everything.
Once you have brought down all of that then try again to view the forms, etc. Then try again to remove any cert on the MDB file. It is all I can think of right now
Allen's comment in the other forum makes the most sense of all.
The file extension must have been changed. Just based on the fact the message is an error regarding "Project" indicates to me Access is not recognizing the file as an MDB. 2003 projects have an adp extension.
Update: The orginal .mdb database was found buried in our shared drive. Now I can access the code to fix the issues. I posted a new thread on the new error and am marking this one solved. Thanks again for all of your help!
