Without having the dB to test, it is hard to know what to do next.

Maybe write some UDFs to do the calculations???

I've tried adding the calc to the query, but then can't edit the form

Did you mean "....can't edit the record???"

And doesn't! The Calculated Field won't be editable, but no Field that is populated using a Calculation/Expression can be.

Yes, I mean that you cannot edit the record from the form or the query. FYI... None of my queries will allow me to change the data once I add a column with an expression. Why is that? Have I done something wrong or maybe have a setting somewhere that needs to be changed?

Don't know without viewing the query and/or db for analysis. I've never had problem with simple calcs in queries.

All of my queries are editable, whether I have calculations or a UDF in them.

Without having your dB to test, it is hard to say. Are you able to post the dB? (just a few records to test, munge any sensitive data)

Your profile states that you're using Access 2007, is that correct? I ask because Allen Browne reports that Queries that have Fields that are Calcluated will be Read-Only, but only in Access 2010.

Access 2010 introduced a new field type - Calculated. This is a field in table that can have an expression. This field is by nature read only, just like a textbox with an expression. I will have to reverify tonight but any query including that field should still be editable, just not that field.
