    If i just give you the code you are never going to learn. All the building blocks of code have been presented to you. Put it all together and it will work. Spend some time trying to make it work.

    You didn't try what works.. the only thing I left out is the update part of this query. this is 95% of what you need to do. The rest is for you to figure out how to update the field you want the nextID to go into.

    Thanks but all that did was get me more confused. I will do it the hard way and just use queries. I am tired of all this. If you think I come on this forum and not try to figure it out myself first or look for answers on the net, you would be wrong. If you think that all I want is just a quick fix and not try to learn, you would be wrong again.
