    One more petty gripe, that's kind of related to #3.

    (
    Which by the way if anyone has an answer to this, I'd love to hear it:
    3. I work with dozens of queries and tables in an Access database. I could always be on the query or table I am looking at, Select Insert Query from the menu and then work on a query on this object. With Office 2010, I need to Select Create, then Query Design, then go and find the table or query again from a list box. It is very frustrating that I can no longer simply select to create a query on the object I have selected and instead need to go search and find it again!
    )

    Ok, here's my new gripe: When doing a "Save as" on a new query, I'm left in the "BackStage", but the focus isn't even set anywhere on the screen, so I have to click on the screen before I can hit escape to get back to the item I was editing. Anyone else experience this? (FlyingBoat, I'm looking your direction)

    Yes, same issue, need to click on screen before I can hit escape.

    I am not yet doing heavy work on 2010 because of its issues.
    I can log into a server and use 2002 for as long as that stays around. They also allowed us to install a VM version of 2003. But that has the issue I can not double click in file manager to open the file. (It can't be set at the default or even an option for openning the MDB, likely because it is a Virtual App.

    I use my PC with Off2010 to open and look at things. But if it is something serious I need to get onto 2002 or 2003 so I can get the work done and not cause screw ups because of its lack of capability.

    Do you know if there is an issue installing 2002 on a Win7 machine that has 2010? I know there were issues I dealt with keeping earlier versions.

    Regarding the Insert Query. I found a tool, "Addintools" which restores the menu system which you might want to look at. It has the Insert Query menu items, but regretfully it doesn't bring up the query with the object you had focus on. It just brings up the Query Design or Wizard option like exist in 2010. Maybe that tool would be a start for you. I did let them know about how their menu system didn't help with this. It was the first thing I tried and the main reason I wanted to use their addintool. It brings in the menu for all of the Office products.
