    I would expect you to be using an ID number of some sort. Name is an unreliable key, since different people can have the same name. In any case, you have to compare apples to apples. If you use the combined name on one form, you need to use the combined name here.

    Like I said, use the ID, not the name:

    DoCmd.OpenForm "Student form", , , "[empl id] = '" & Me.Student_Name.Column(1) & "'"
