searching for data from different subforms

I have no idea onhow to code in access but I am willing to learn.I have a main form with buttons that open subforms.The main form also contains combo boxes and textboxes.I would like to enter data in the main form and search matching data from the different subforms.Please help

Do your buttons actually open 'sub' forms - or do they open other regular forms?

A 'sub' form is one that is 'part of' a form.
Is this what you have - ONE Form - with several sub-forms built onto it?

if data is not availible in the second form i would like it to return some sort of error message or something like record not found.Please help
