    OLE Object display application issue/question

I have an Access 2007 table that contains a large number of sizable images embedded as OLE Objects. They were originally edited/created in an older version of MGI PhotoSuite. This PhotoSuite version only runs on WinXP and not on Win7. My client's environment is comprised of a mish-mash of OS versions (XP, Win7-32bit, Win7-64bit).

I am interested in knowing if anyone knows of a free (or VERY low-cost) application that I could get and install on each of the machines so that everyone could easily access and view the embedded OLE Object images. The client does not want to pony up and buy the Roxio PhotoSuite update (or PhotoShop, or anything else that costs any real money).

Thanks in advance for your assistance, fellow AccessForum'ers! And my apologies if this thread was created in the wrong category.

    Problem solved!

I found a perfect (read: free) solution for this issue. I went and dusted off an old Office 97 CD, and installed the Microsoft Photo Editor application module onto each machine, and problem solved. The issue is that all MS Office versions from 2003 and higher automatically remove Photo Editor as part of the install or upgrade process, which leaves many machines without an OLE server for any image type except for .BMP and .DIB.

Adding Photo Editor adds support back for .JPG/.JPEG and .GIF. Problem solved.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
