Setting db properties with autoexec routine

When I copy my program to another directory or computer, am getting the working directory error at startup. I know you can just click through the message, but I would like to eliminate the error.

Is there a way using VBA code to set this property using CurDir() so that the working directory is whatever directory the file is located?

Not sure I have never encountered this error message. What is the exact message? Does your project work after you click through the message?

    See attached screen shot.

"Microsoft Office can't change the working directory to:......."

Relates to the "Default Database Folder" option in the Access Option Menu

Yes, you can click through it.

Yep, never seen that before. I don't get that error message when any of my projects copied to another location.

I think that default folder reference is an Application, not project, setting and concerns the creation of a new project file. It should not impact an already saved project. Something else must be going on to cause this. You want to provide project for analysis?

I have never altered this setting. It shows on my home pc C:\Documents and Settings\Stargate\My Documents\

Stargate is user ID on this pc. At work it also shows the Documents and Settings\userID\My Documents\ pathing

I have taken projects between work and home and never had this issue.

    Maybe a 2007 issue, not 2010?

I have seen it in other searches, but haven't been able to nail down an approach to eliminate.

I have taken 2003, 2007, 2010 projects and opened on various machines with different Access versions. NEVER seen that message.

I'm going to copy to my wife's laptop and see what happens. Maybe it has something to do with my computer's settings?

will also put on the server at work and ask someone else to open it up and see if they get the message and go from there.

I recently had this problem. When I moved my database default location in the options screen the error message started popping up. I went to the following link for information on how to resolve it:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/208683

Basically, I changed the location to a new default folder and the error stopped occurring.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
