Exclamation Help: Can't Insert a New Record

I am using an Access form that I created on an earlier version of Access and I have been able to insert (add) new records with this form and database.

Recently, I added some text, moved some text around on the form, and saved the form.

Sense my revisions, I am unable to insert (add) new records. (The "New" button in the software's header is grayed out.)

I have saved and compacted/repaired the form/database, but this did not help solve my problem.

    Would you please help me?

    Bill

Open a new database and import all the objects into the new database and see if the problem goes away.

    Another possiblity

The data additions property on the form has been changed to "no" or "false". I've been chasing this problem for a week or more and haven't found what is causing it. On the other hand, that doesn't necessarily account for you button being grayed.

    Smile Success!

Thanks for your help, guys! The problem is fixed and I'm up and running!

I chose to try Access_Blaster's approach first. I created a new database with the same fields and field names and imported all the quirys, reports, and forms. I successfully upgraded the database format from *.mdb to *.accdb. All of my quiries and reports worked, but I still had the same problem I started with.

Using the new database, I created a new form with the same content as the orginal form. The new form worked! I deleted the old form and saved the new database.

    Thanks again, Bill
