Access login form help

I want to make a login form which will Dlookup user name and password from database.
if user1 loging credential matches then it should take the user1 to another form named to that user can any one help me with the code how should i proceed I did a dlookup but its just

i want to design a database to be accessed by 2 levels of users on a network: admins / users with view only rights. I figured that the best way to have effective control is thru a login screen. In case of admin, one gets to see the database and in case of a normal user, there would be a splash screen with all other controls/toolbars disabled.

i need inputs on: (a) is the line of attack correct? (b) how to collect the appropriate bits of codes for the right approach?

yes Jamchamp is absolutely correct.

I want to design a database to be accessed by multiple users administrator and user's.
User's must have only readonly access can any one help me out.

I would look into (ULS) User Level Security. But study up first. Here's a good place to start.

I found a form on internet where a combo box is used as username field and a text box field as password. In this form dlookup is used to check if the data entered in both field matches with those stored in the table. if values in both form match then a splash screen opens up
i need assistance in writing a code with an if stmt, like if for eg user id and password =xyz then a form named xyz must open

You are still going to have problems with the different levels of asses allowed to users such as ReadOnly. Are you sure you don't want to look into ULS?

i m a bit confused and surely need ur assistance on this
what i want is I want a login form which should check details for uid and password enterd by user in a table if it matches then it should allow complete access to that user to a form named to that user

Post # 4 in this thread states that some users only have read only access. How do you plan to implelent that feature?
