    Access 2007 Store Management Database

    Hi,
    I wonder if anyone here have an short example but functional of a database that manages a mini-store? A database based on tables like :
    1. Shop Entry ( invoice number, invoice date, supplier name , unit measurement , quantity , acquisition price );
    2. Shop Output ( output , Output Document Number , Output Document Date , Client , Product , Quantity , Sale Price );
    3. Products;
    4. Stocks;
    5. Unit Measurement;

    6. Entry Documents;
    7. Output Documents;
    8. Companies.
    And as a database view some reports with calculations of the profit made by selling products.
    Thank you

    Check out the Northwind template. It should be an available choice when you open Access to a new database.

    Thanks June7 for reply , but Northwind databases are much more complex and require a lot of time to understand it

    Then I expect your best approach is to start learning from the bottom up. Build a database from scratch. I have never used anyone else's project for my own purpose.

    You are talking - in general terms - of inventory control , products, customers , reports, etc. etc -- this is NOT a trivial application.
    If you are expecting some software that immediately satisfies your business needs, I am afraid you are just dreaming. There is NO SUCH ANIMAL.
    Even if you purchased the best, all encompassing ready made application, you would need training in set up , operations, maintenance etc. And it would cost plenty, and may not adapt to any changing needs.

    Northwind is a great learning database. Others have adapted it to meet local needs.

    Use it to learn the basics. If you find it too complex, and don't take the time to learn the basics, I think you are in over your head.

    Just my $.02 in addition to what June has said. You walk before you run.

    Good luck with your decision.

    No Orange, i`m not talking about inventory here, i`m talking about recording an invoice , making the products stock , managing the outputs of stock , and more important a basic calculation to find out the profit.

    I think it's a matter of terminology - when you have products in Stock and manage moving Products from Stock - we consider that "inventory" - at least in general terms.

    Well those are very good database examples, but if you have a store and sell little things, do you need to store your clients ? Guess not.

    Adapt. You have one client named Customer. Set as default for all sales transactions.
