    can't we just work together?

Help, help. I have a simple DB with one 3 tables, one query, one form. The form is query driven and until today worked perfectly. I would query something, hit save, select the report and presto I had my report. Now it keeps telling me that someone else is working and my changes will be save later though no one else is using this db. And the form is completely empty -- just the labels but no imported data

What do you mean by imported data? Where is the data?

    Did you try running Compact&Repair?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

run the compact and repair. Then look to see if there is a lock file (same folder as the db) that wasn't deleted.

Once you do that, open Access (not the database) and go to the Open dialog box. select your database and choose the Open-Exclusive.

Those are just some ideas. If that doesnt work, I have no clue.

And by the way. You do not need to run the query before running the report. Queries do NOT save data in them. They just display data from the tables and are current whenever they are run, including as the record source of a report. When you open the report, it runs the query and then displays the results. So opening the query and hitting save isn't going to do anything good for you.
