Select Drop down menu in Report

I have a report that stems from a query. The query criteria is [Enter in Desired SN]. This part works awesome once the known SN is entered but I would love for the SN's from the query (based directly from a data table) to be a drop down menu as the SN is not always known.

How do I get a combo box in my query criteria?

Does the initial data table have to stem from a table (combo box)?

There is no way to get a drop down when using the brackets method. Most of us use a form to gather user input, where it would be simple to create a combo to use for this purpose. Then your criteria in the query is:

Forms!FormName.ComboName

Thank you for the quick reply Paul, The drop down menu was to select the SN's that were already entered in the form. I get what you are saying though. Thank you for your help and ideas you created for me.

I am back working on the database and I came up with creating a report for the specific serial numbers and then building a macro that does the following:
..opens specific serial number report
..at the same time the pop up criteria from the query comes up with "Enter Desired SN" (this way the list of serial numbers are visible..) YAY
..the desired SN is now entered
..the desired Serial Number history report is then printed
..both reports are closed...

And there it is.. the chocolate frosting on the chocolate cake!!
