Strange one - reports opened, nothing to tell it to do that.

Have no idea what was doing it - there was no problem for a year, until I included the data-check sub last week, and it continued even if the call to that was commented out. Hence the head-scratching.

I know it's just a patch for when it happens, but it's all I have time for right now.

I was happy enough to get the 'rough as guts' version done using raw numbers for the location of the mouse (Access on full-screen & the form where it opened) but today, I've succeeded in improving that a WHOLE LOT!

I've learned about twips (never heard of them before).
Instead of bare numbers for the boundaries of a correct mouse location onscreen, I now have them based on where the control is positioned within the section --- where the section (eg detail) is positioned on the form --- and where the form is located onscreen - and it takes into account the screen resolution as well. All locations in twips, relative to the screen.

Tested to death by moving & resizing Access & the same for the form within, and it WORKS!

I sigh with relief.
