Do you have any code that will retry when there is a lock?

No, the user can press ESC and get rid of the pencil icon so they can scroll records again. They can then come back and try in a few minutes. Often times the lock sticks around for at least 4 of 5 minutes, sometimes longer and we have to get as many people out as possible hoping whoever is holding the lock exits and releases it. Usually that works too.

What did you mean when you said the network drops connections on occasion? Are you using wireless?

There is no wireless, but sometimes people will be working and the form will error out, all bound fields will show # and some error, can't remember now if it says deleted or error, but once they close the front end and open it everything is fine. The networking staff knows there are occasional drops because they have had to deal with that before, so I am putting those two issues together and drawing my conclusion.

It would be nice to have some magical answer to this situation but the more you describe the system the more sceptical I become about success. I am afraid I am out of ideas at this point. I'll keep watching this thread and post back if I think of something but the well is dry I am afraid, sorry.
