The Home | Views Options not longer work

I can no longer view my tables, forms and views with Home’s Design View or Datasheet View using Office 365’s Access on my Windows 10 computer. If I select either, they show a page full or horizontal line. I backup on a older Windows 10 computer also running Office 365 and it display the backups fine but if I copy to my main computer they fail to display – just a page full of lines. Obviously must be a problem with the main computer.

I have checked all the Options, that I have been changed since installing, comparing both machines line by line – they are identical. I did find one Google reference on the subject which suggested I reinstall Office 365 after deleting and/or updating my video driver. I found a newer version for my AMD Radeon RX 460 video card and also deleted and reinstalled – both to no avail.

I’d appreciate some help. I have no idea what I may have inadvertently changed. I am retired and these are old programs I wrote always seem to need modification and I am now helpless.

Can you provide the following info (as well as a simple repro database): Office 365 version / build / bitness & update channel

For example: Version 2509 build 19225.20000 64-bit Beta Channel

if you can view the data on another computer, then it must be a graphic card problem.
can you share snapshot of what is being displayed, the horizontal lines.

So these are two different pc's running W 10 and 365? I suspect one of them has a different display setting in Windows. Perhaps one is 110% or maybe 90% - something different than the one where the view is OK.

The Homes | Design View no longer works

I am so embarrassed. I arose early and zipped a program on my old Dell which I copied to my newer Windows computer to illustrate the problem that I found for all access programs trying to run there on the newer computer. I decided I should also take a screen shot of the lines created when I attempted to view using Design View or LayOut View. I unzipped – surprise no lines!! All sorts of thoughts went through my head as to how zipping might correct. Finally came to my senses and opened several of the other programs on the newer computer, all of which had previously displayed the lines. Again, no lines! I swear I cannot think of any changes I made in either the OS or Office 365 that could have corrected – possibly my mind controls, and I wanted to give up programming, and this was going to be a good reason.

I have checked dozens of programs and the problem only occurred if a ran a copy on that computer or moved to that computer.

Now I will send some computer details because you asked, but this is now after the fact that the problem solved itself. Back on the job this afternoon and I have confirmed and reconfirmed that I cannot find any program on the new computer that misbehaves.

This is not longer pertinent but you asked. What I described as my newer computer I built in 2017 (Mother board - ASRock H270 M Pro4,Video - Gigabyte Radeon RX460 Direct X, CPU – Intel Core i5-7500 Kaby Lake Quad 3.4 GHz) and 16GB of memory. My OS is Windows 10 22H2 OS Build 19045.6282 running Office 365 Personal The old is a Dell 660S was purchased in 2014.

Thanks again guys and I am sorry you all were going to help and then the problem disappeared.

    Hi Ed
Also pleased that it sorted itself. Just for future reference, please post the full Access info as in post #4 if you do have future problems. No point doing so now.

    Isladogs,

Did not realize I could be running an old version and build of Office 365 which Microsoft monitors often to remind me of my next annual charge. But did locate the details and will do as suggest when I sumit any additional question.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
