use ODBC or "From Sql Server" to link to sql tables

What is the difference between linking to a sql server using the ODBC Database link and the From Sql Server link? And which one is preferred if there is a better way?

    Thanks

Nothing as far as I can tell.

They both end up using an ODBC Driver DSN to create the link.
