    Upload of zipped file (Folder)

Laura had already sanitised the db before I got it so no need for the randomiser app.. Also she has left all of the tblAccounts for all the previous months, I don't think that will affect your work but we do of course have the original db so feel free to get rid of them if you wish.
I await your questions although I'm sorry, I won't be able to reply today.

I hope I've done this correctly, I've done it before but???????????

Not sure what we need to look at?
It opened for me as do various forms.

However I am alarmed at all the tables such as tblAccountMarch2009
There should be one table with fields for month and year.
Also you should never allow direct access to tables, always via forms.
Every time I open a form and close it, I have to go back and open the main screen again?

Regardless it appears to run on my PC with 2019. If there are any specific steps we need to take, you will need to explain them.

Also when you install a db, you need to make sure that location is trusted and also that macros are enabled. These are in Access options.
I installed this into my Temp\DB folder as per your folder and it worked, as that folder is trusted and I have macros enabled.

You generally do not create a new table for each month/year.
Must be a nightmare to know which table you want to interrogate ?

I do not know why people have Save Record in Access, Yes, in something like Foxpro and other DBs you need that, but if everything is bound, there is no need in Access.

The only things I see hindering the proper running of the DB as is, is that it needs to reside in a trusted location.
And also, after placing into the trusted location, adjust this property if it is shown:

You will also need to give steps to recreate each of those error messages, if they still appear after correcting what has already been mentioned.

Hello again, Welshgasman, and thanks for your reply, it's good to know that at least some of what I sent has arrived !
I know the db is not built as it should be, I have been told before. In my defence I am not a coder and did this to help out. It has been working flawlessly for 7 years (and still is on the old machine) and Laura is happy with it. However I don't know why all of those old monthly accounts tables are still there, perhaps because she's terrified to delete anything !
From reading your advice, it seems that you haven't received all of the details, there are several images of error messages and they are named as the form or report that they appear from. Also there is a tblOverview which describes the way the db is supposed to work and the problems that we are encountering right now. Can you let me know if you have these images and the overview please and if not I'll have another attempt?
    Trevor.

Hi davegri, thanks for you replay.
I don't really know how to do that, I disabled all that was in the Trust Centre before uploading the db.
I'm using W11 and my version of the db properties is different to yours and doesn't have the option to unblock. I looked under the 'Security' tab and didn't see anything there either. Could that be because I emptied the Trust Centre ?

I see several images for errors, but no idea as how to recreate them.
TBH I think you should get the trust and macro settings correct on Laura's computer (or any other computer) and then see if you have any issues.
I just randomly chose several options and all appear to work?

If the property sheet doesn't have that option at the bottom, it simply means that it doesn't apply.
I'm pretty sure that you don't understand trusted locations, and I think (as well as WGM thinks) that you MUST set that up properly or we will be here forever telling you over and over again to do so.
There are dozens and dozens of Youtube videos concerning this.

Concerning the email sending problem, have you created the C:\pdfs\ folder on the target laptop?

I will look at Youtube, thank you. I have now created the pdfs folder in the C drive and I will reboot everything and get back if it makes a difference.

I have enabled all macros (the non recommended option) for now. I have created the PDFs folder and I have added to path to the Access db to the trusted list. I've tried to send some emails and only 2 have generated the pdfs but that's a start. I have to get the list ofall the macros from Laura's computer, tomorrow hopefully.
I have found some useful posts on YouTube, similar to those from your link WGM. Will carry on tomorrow.
    Thanks, for the kick.

Yes it is the non recommended option, but unless you want prompting every time you want to run some code, then that is what you need. Just do not download anything you are not sure of. Easy of use comes with responsibility.

If alm that fails, tells us EXACTLY what we need to do to recreate the errors. Having a second language for the db does not help.

Sorry about that but message understood.
As is the message about the macro settings. This shouldn't be a problem because she never uses the computer for regular emails, just the weekly reports and the monthly accounts. The wifi can be switched off for the rest of the time.
