How to fit the form to the notebook screen?

Hello, dear colleagues.



I connected to Access app the notebook with 11' diagonal (1920*1080 / Windows 10 / Office 365). But Access app forms doesn't fit to the notebook's screen, scroll bars appeared & working with forms is very inconvenient.

Access app was developed on a PC with 23' monitor (1920*1080 / Windows 10 / Office 365). Because of a lot of controls in the forms (as well as lot of columns in the corresponding LisBoxes & large wide of these ListBoxes) the forms were designed to fit to a screen (to cover the whole accessible screen space when Access window in expanded state). There are no problems with users PCs with 23' - 24' monitors (1920*1080 / Windows 10 / Ms Office 2013-2019), all the forms fits the screens.

I have change the DPI settings for MSACCESS.EXE using this instruction, but without any visible changes in result.

Could you please give any advise about this problem?

You could try isladogs Form Resize code? Generally you would develop for the smallest screen, not the other way around?

There are several resizing hacks out there, but as Welshgasman suggested, these all work best when sizing UP, meaning you need to start out with a 'smaller' screen, if you will. But this kind of problem is always associated with the resolution of the screen, not the screen size.

This is confusing, as you state in your OP that the resolution on all machines is 1920*1080...are you sure that this is true on the notebook?

My 12 inch Windows tablet has a resolution of 1920*1080 with 125% scaling factor
Using my automatic form resizing (AFR) code, I can run any app on a range of monitors from the tablet up to 38 inch widescreen UHD monitors

Good to see you after a long gap. However, I certainly wouldn't call the use of AFR a 'hack'

Before 'hack' got a bad name, mainly in the main stream media, in the pre-Windows days, it used to be used as a term of respect for any particularly clever procedure!
